The Helsinki Olympic Stadium arena, which has been described as the most beautiful in the world, is the product of an architectural competition. Arhcitects Mr. Yrjö Lindegren and Mr. Toivo Jäntti won the competition with their clearly lined functionalistic style design. The most important events in the life of the Helsinki Olympic Stadium were the XVth Olympic Games, 19. July-3. August, 1952.
This was the second time I had the privilege to renew the Helsinki Olympic Stadium website design and user experience. The first time I worked on this brand was in 2015 at the time the Stadium Foundation updated their graphic identity. This time the new site was build along the major renowation of the Stadium itself for 2020.
In 2015 my job at karhu Helsinki was to design a fresh new website for the Stadium that was starting its renowation with a visual identity guideline and logo which were created by the Stadium Foundation's University collaboration. So this time 4 years later the website was to reflect the new look and feel of the Stadium.
I designed the user interface and created layouts for multiple screen sizes.
The project specification was produced by our project managers with The Stadium Foundation and the website was built on Drupal by our developer team at Karhu Helsinki.
